Jake Jump started his racing carrier at the age of thirteen years young. Jump struggled the first year with no win in his rookie season, despite taking forth in the points standings just missing out on the rookie of the year honors.
Jump did not let that discourage him for the 2004 season. Jump Racing added a second car to the team, Jumps dad, John Jump was to be the driver. Jake Jump wrapped up the season with six feature wins and seven heat wins and numerous fast qualifying times. Jump also was named the “Wausau, WI State Park Speedway Track Champion.”
In 2005 it was time for a change. A change in drivers and a change in where and who they raced. They changed Jake’s teammate from his dad to his good friend Alex Yendrezski. They also decided to change series they race with from Wisconsin series to the Illinois. Jump finished the season with three heat wins and one feature. It was not what they expected after a championship season only to find themselves with a fifth place finish in the points.
In the 2006 season Jumps luck took a turn for the worst. Jump finished the season with three feature wins, four heat wins, and five fast times. He also hade four DNF (Did not finish). Jump ended the bad year 7th in points, his lowest finish in all 4 years. Jumps ready to turn his luck around for the 2007 season. Jump Racing eliminated the second car to keep the focus on Jumps car.
